Why use it?

Capture extra revenue during peak demand without changing anything else.

  • Monetise high-demand slots

  • Still offer value off-peak

Prerequisites

Example: Charging more for peak hours time block

In our example, 5PM to 8PM are the busiest hours for spaces Bay 1 and Bay 3, so we want to charge more during that time of the day, then fall back to the normal rate the rest of the day.

Time period

Price per hour

9:00AM - 5:00PM

$40 per hour

5:00PM - 8:00PM (peak window)

$60 per hour

8:00PM - 10:00PM

$40 per hour

Finished Setup Example

Because the surcharge rule sits above the standard rule, the setup will:

  • Match $60 for bookings that start anywhere inside 17:00-20:00.

  • Fall back to $40 for bookings at all other times that day. This way you don't have to set different pricing rules for before and after peak time standard rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why leave the “ duration ≥ 15 minutes ” line untouched?

The last three selectors aren’t there to fine-tune your surcharge, they’re simply telling the system when a pricing rule is eligible to run at all.

Keep the “duration ≥ 15 min” row as the universal pass-through so the rule applies to all bookings in the 5PM – 8PM window, regardless of length.
