What types of credit are available?

You can create two types of credit package:

  • Time credit: covers a set amount of booking time (e.g. 10 hours). The credit is deducted based on the duration of each booking.

  • Booking count credit: covers a set number of bookings (e.g. 5 bookings). One credit is used per booking slot per space, regardless of duration.

How users purchase credit

There are two ways users can purchase a package:

  1. Invite link: share the package's purchase link directly with users. They'll be prompted to log in or register before completing checkout.

  2. Memberships & Credits page: users can browse and purchase available packages from their self-serve Memberships & Credits page.

Payment is handled via Stripe. Once payment is confirmed, credit is available in the user's account immediately.

How credit is applied at booking

Credit is applied automatically when a user makes a booking, there's nothing extra for them to do.

A few things to know about how credit is applied:

  • Allowances take priority. If a user has a recurring allowance that covers the booking, credit packages are not applied.

  • Soonest-expiring credit is used first. If a user has multiple packages, credit is drawn from whichever expires soonest.

  • Partial credit is supported. If a user's credit doesn't fully cover the booking cost, their remaining credit is applied and the difference is charged at the standard price.

  • Discount codes cannot be combined with credit. If credit is applied, the discount code option is not shown.

  • Credit does not apply to recurring bookings.

Users can see their remaining credit balance and active packages on their profile page.

Managing a user's credit

To view or manage credit for a specific user:

  1. Go to Users and open the contextual menu (⋮) on a user's row

  2. Click Credit packages

  3. The modal shows their total remaining balance and each active package with its remaining credit and expiry date

To remove a package instance, click ⋮ on the package row and select Delete instance. You'll be asked to confirm before the credit is permanently removed. This cannot be undone.

Deleting a package definition

To remove a package from your settings:

  1. Go to Settings → Credit Packages

  2. Click ⋮ on the package row and select Delete package

  3. You'll be shown how many users have active credit that will be voided

  4. Confirm to permanently delete the package and void all remaining credit

Important: Deleting a package is permanent. Any users with remaining credit from that package will lose it immediately. The linked Stripe product is not affected, you can manage that separately in your Stripe Dashboard.

FAQs

Can a user have more than one credit package?

Yes. Users can hold multiple packages at once. Credit is drawn in expiry order across all eligible packages.

Can I restrict credit bookings to specific dates?

No, credit packages don't support specific date or date range restrictions. You can restrict credit bookings to certain days of the week (e.g. weekdays only) and time windows, but not to a fixed calendar date range.

What happens when credit expires?

Expired credit is no longer available and is excluded from the user's balance. Past bookings that used the credit are not affected.

Can I restrict a package to certain spaces or times?

Yes. When creating a package you can restrict it to specific spaces, days, and time windows. Credit will only apply to bookings that match those restrictions.

Will users be notified when they purchase a package?

Yes. Users receive a purchase confirmation email and admins receive a notification email when a package is purchased.
