AllBooked - Seam Integration

Unlock the power of automated access controls within AllBooked

Written by Nader Fotouhi

Overview

If your venue operates unattended — think 24/7 gyms, golf simulators, or self-service studios — AllBooked can automatically generate and deliver a unique door code to each guest for their booking, with no staff involved.

This is powered by our integration with Seam, a platform that connects to smart locks from brands like Schlage. AllBooked handles the booking side; Seam handles generating the code and getting it onto the lock.

Please note: Seam access comes with an additional cost per-device, per-month. This is a flat fee, regardless of booking volume, which will be billed separately from your AllBooked plan, and will prorate based on activity within the billing period.

What you get:

  • A unique access code generated automatically for every booking that needs one

  • The code delivered to your guest by email, timed to arrive before their visit

  • Automatic code expiry after the booking ends — no manual cleanup

  • Warnings if a lock goes offline, runs low on battery, or a code fails to set

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A supported smart lock, installed and connected to Wi-Fi through its manufacturer's app (e.g. the Schlage Home app)

    • Supported devices include smart locks with PIN pads for access codes that are also supported by Seam.

  • An account with your lock's brand (e.g. Schlage Home)

  • The Seam integration enabled for your venue (this is turned on by our team — reach out if you're not sure whether it's active on your account)

Step 1: Connect your lock account

  1. Click Integrations (just below Settings)

  2. Find the Seam card and click Connect Device.

  3. This opens a secure connection window. Choose your lock's brand and log in with your existing account for that brand.

  4. Once connected, you'll see a confirmation screen — click Close to return to AllBooked.

You don't need to enter any serial numbers or account tokens — everything is detected automatically once you log in.

Step 2: Set up Access Controls

Once your account is connected, go to Integrations and click Manage on the Seam card to configure how codes are applied to your spaces.

Link devices to spaces

  • For each space, choose one or more connected locks from the dropdown.

  • A space can have more than one lock if needed (e.g. a front gate and a bay door for the same booking).

    • In these cases, Seam will provide the same code for both locks, meaning your customers won't have to remember which code goes to which lock.

  • Note: when a device is associated to a space, that means two things:

    • Every future booking in that space will be assigned an access code

    • Booking series can no longer be supported in that space, as the Seam integration does not currently support multi-booking series

      • This means that existing booking series must be moved to a different space prior to device linking

What your guests will see

Guests get two separate emails:

  1. Booking confirmation — sent immediately, as usual. This does not include the access code yet.

  2. "Your access code is ready" — a separate email sent once the lock has been successfully programmed, containing the code, the space name, and the booking time.

If a booking is modified and the code changes, guests automatically get an updated "access code ready" email with the new code.

Additionally, when viewing the "Edit Booking" modal in the AllBooked UI, the access code will be shown to booking holders and admins in the bottom corner of the booking form.

Removing or changing a linked device

If you unlink a device from a space and there are upcoming bookings relying on it, AllBooked will warn you first and link you to a view containing affected bookings. You can cancel, or proceed and the affected bookings will be flagged for follow-up.

Troubleshooting

AllBooked flags bookings that need your attention as At Risk if:

  • A code fails to generate or program onto the lock

  • The lock goes offline

  • The lock's battery drops below 10%

  • A code is still pending shortly before the booking is due to start

You'll get an email alert with a link to a view with these bookings, so that you can follow up with the guest directly if needed.

FAQ

What does the Seam integration cost?

Seam carries a $30 per-device, per-month charge. This will be added to your subscription as a separate line item, and is available for all AllBooked plans.

Can one space use more than one lock?

Yes — link as many devices as the space needs (e.g. a gate and a door).

Will guests see their code in the AllBooked guest portal?

Not currently — codes are delivered by email only.

What happens to the code after the booking ends?

It's automatically expired — no action needed from you.

What if two guests are accidentally assigned the same code?

The system detects this and automatically issues a new, unique code before the guest arrives.
