Creating a Discount Code

To create a Discount Code:

  1. Navigate to Settings then to Discount Codes

  2. Click New Code

  3. Complete the following fields in the form

Code Name

The code users will enter at checkout (for example: SUMMER25).

Code names:

  • Must be unique within your venue

  • Can contain letters, numbers and hyphens

Discount Type

Choose whether the discount is:

  • Percentage – e.g. 20% off

  • Fixed Amount – e.g. £10 off

Discount Value

Define the amount of the discount.

Examples:

  • 20% discount

  • £10 discount

  • $25 discount

Validity

Valid From - The date from which the code can be redeemed.

Expiry Date - The date after which the code can no longer be redeemed.

Max Redemptions Per User

Define how many times an individual user can use the same code.

Examples:

  • 1 = each user can use the code once

  • 5 = each user can use the code up to five times

Active Status

Control whether a non-expired code is currently available for redemption.

  • Active – users can redeem the code

  • Inactive – users cannot redeem the code


Applying a Discount Code

Note: Discount codes can only be used for single bookings. Codes cannot be applied to recurring bookings.

Users and admins can apply a Discount Code during the booking process by:

  1. Entering the code into the Discount Code field

  2. Clicking Apply

  3. Reviewing the updated booking total before completing payment

If the code is valid, the discount will be applied immediately and the booking total will be updated.

Why a Discount Code May Be Rejected

A Discount Code may be rejected if:

  • The code does not exist

  • The code is inactive

  • The code has expired

  • The code is not yet active

  • The user has reached the maximum number of permitted redemptions

If a code cannot be redeemed, users will see an error message and the discount will not be applied.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can a user apply more than one Discount Code to a booking?

No. Only one Discount Code can be applied to a booking.

How do I stop exiting codes from being used?

You can set the Discount Code to Inactive and it will no longer be redeemable for new bookings.

Will changing a Discount Code affect existing bookings?

No. Editing an existing code will only apply the changes to bookings that are not already using the code.

Can I limit how many times a Discount Code can be used across my venue?

Currently we only supports redemption limits per user. As a work around you can manually set the code to inactive when you no longer want the code to be redeemed by any user.

Can I require a minimum booking value before a Discount Code can be used?

At the moment discount Codes can be applied to any booking regardless of value.

Can I restrict a Discount Code to new users, specific users, tags or spaces?

Not currently but we'll be working on bringing more of these options to the discount codes feature in the future
