When Zoom is connected for your venue, users creating bookings on synced Google or Microsoft resources can choose Zoom as their video-conferencing option. Skedda will automatically create a Zoom meeting and attach its join link to the booking.
The Zoom link appears in the booking details, in synced calendar events, and in booking notifications. For recurring bookings, the same Zoom link is reused across all occurrences.
How it works
Once a venue admin connects Zoom, Skedda uses your organization’s Zoom account to create meetings for users whose email addresses match managed Zoom users.
Users can:
Select Zoom when adding a conferencing link to a synced booking.
Rely on Skedda to automatically generate and attach the meeting link.
Keep the same link for recurring series and have it updated or removed automatically when bookings change or are cancelled.
Zoom links can only be added to bookings on synced resources, ensuring that meeting details are properly reflected in connected Google or Microsoft calendars.
Set up Zoom integration
Admins can enable Zoom from the Settings → Integrations page.
Click Connect Zoom.
Sign in as your organization’s Zoom admin and authorize Skedda to create meetings on behalf of your users.
Once connected, Zoom will appear as a conferencing option for all users creating bookings on synced resources.
Users must belong to the same Zoom account (matching email domains) for Skedda to create meetings under their names.
Removing Zoom integration
Admins can also disable and remove the integration via Settings -> Integrations page.
Click on the three dots button inside the Zoom Integration box and click "Remove integration".
Limitations
Sync direction
The Zoom integration is one-way. Skedda sends booking information to Zoom, but changes made directly in Zoom do not sync back to Skedda.
This means:
If you update a booking in Skedda → the Zoom meeting is updated
If you delete a booking in Skedda → the Zoom meeting is deleted
If you make changes inside Zoom (time, topic, attendees, recurrence), those changes will not appear in Skedda or your calendar
We recommend always updating bookings from Skedda (or from your Google/Microsoft calendar), not from Zoom.
Zoom recurrence limitations
Zoom does not support yearly recurrence
Zoom does not support exceptions (skipping dates)
Skedda will warn users when selecting Zoom for complex recurrence patterns.
Zoom account host behavior
Skedda assigns meetings to Zoom users based on email match
If the booking holder does not exist in the Zoom tenant, Skedda may fall back to a designated host (admin/butler approach depending on your configuration)
Availability
The Zoom integration is available only for bookings on synced resources (Google or Microsoft).
For Google resources, users can choose between Google Meet or Zoom.
For Microsoft resources, users can choose between Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
The integration is included in all subscription plans.
FAQ's
What happens if I delete a booking with Zoom enabled?
What happens if I delete a booking with Zoom enabled?
Skedda will automatically delete the associated Zoom meeting.
Do users need Zoom accounts to join?
Do users need Zoom accounts to join?
Usually no.
By default, anyone with the Zoom join link can enter the meeting without signing in.
However, your organization’s Zoom admin may enforce additional security settings such as:
“Only authenticated users can join”
Domain restrictions (e.g., only users from your company domain)
Waiting room enabled for all meetings
SSO-only access
If any of these policies are enabled in your Zoom account, some users may be required to sign in or may be prevented from joining.
Are Zoom Rooms suported?
Are Zoom Rooms suported?
Yes. Zoom Rooms are supported as long as they are properly configured.
To ensure this works:
The Zoom Room must be synced with an external calendar (Microsoft or Google).
Two-way sync (2WS) must be enabled between the external calendar and Skedda.
When set up this way, Zoom Rooms can function as bookable resources and Zoom meetings will be created as expected.
